SEA Announces 2019 Presidential Rank Awardees

WASHINGTON, DC – The White House has unveiled the 2019 cohort of Presidential Rank Award (PRA) honorees, who will be feted at the Senior Executives Association’s Presidential Rank Awards Leadership Summit on December 17, 2019, at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The President recognized 145 Senior Executives and Senior Professionals in 2019, including 29 Distinguished Executives, 3 Distinguished Professionals, 84 Meritorious Executives, and 13 Meritorious Professionals. The full list of 2019 Presidential Rank Awardees is available on the Summit website.

“It is our privilege to recognize and honor the extraordinary accomplishments of these senior career Federal leaders,” said Bill Valdez, President of SEA.  “The PRA winners exemplify public service leadership principles of integrity, accountability, and a passionate focus on delivering mission results to the American taxpayer.  This recognition by the President is extended to the many dedicated civil servants who worked hand-in-hand with the 2019 PRA honorees to demonstrate that the career civil service is focused on bringing great value to our Nation.”

Each year, the President of the United States recognizes a small percentage of the members of the Senior Executive Service (SES) and Senior Professionals (SL, ST) for sustained accomplishment and achievement of extraordinary results with the Presidential Rank Award. This year, less than .02% of all career Federal executives received awards for their outstanding achievements in public service.  This is the Nation’s highest civilian career Federal leadership award and consists of two categories:  Distinguished and Meritorious Rank Awards.

“The documented achievements of the PRA honorees save the American public billions of dollars annually.  PRA honorees manage complex programs, secure our nation’s homeland, advance public safety and health, and are on the front lines of delivering mission results to the American taxpayer,” Valdez said.  “An examination of their accomplishments can only lead to the conclusion that our Nation is being well served by these dedicated public servants.”
