Government Transformation & Enterprise ManagementCareer Senior Executives are not just leaders of the workforce, they oversee critical programs and budgets in all aspects of mission and mission support functions. Making sure the federal government has the tools, systems and processes in place to be responsive to taxpayer needs is imperative to creating a 21st century government. SEA has identified the following areas as necessary and important to achieving this mission.
Reimagining the WorkforceUnderpinning every program and agency are the people who work there. Without strong employee performance, agencies cannot meet their missions. The federal government has many talented people. Often they work in silos and do not receive the tools, development and training necessary to meet new challenges, take appropriate risks, and drive innovation. When this does happen it is often in spite of agency culture and personnel rules. Additionally, many employees lack the correct skillsets to meet future challenges facing the federal government. This is exacerbated by antiquated and inflexible personnel and performance systems. The following policy areas focus on pieces of the federal workforce and seek to build a stronger system to meet 21st century talent needs.
