Senior Executives Association Awards Program Coming in January

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Robert E. Corsi, Jr., President of the Senior Executives Association (SEA) – the leading professional association responsible for representing, convening, and cultivating members of the Senior Executive Service (SES) and senior career leaders across the federal government – released the following statement:

As President of the Senior Executives Association (SEA), I am excited to announce the upcoming launch of SEA’s first-ever awards program – the Senior Executives Association Annual Awards (SEAAA). For over 40 years, SEA has been the consistent voice for career leaders – whether in front of Congress, the Administration, or across the Executive Branch – advocating for good government solutions to the challenges facing leaders. Above all else, SEA is guided by dedication to public service and to helping career federal leaders better serve the American people. SEA members are part of a movement to transform government for the 21st Century and to empower senior leaders to drive change.

“Our Board of Directors decided that an SEA awards program was long overdue and that we needed to recognize the incredible accomplishments of our executives that may not rise to the level that are recognized with the very limited Presidential Rank Awards,” Corsi said, “They further wanted to ensure that no small agency would be at a disadvantage in nominating their executives because of the inability to pay out large cash awards. We are starting small with three very prestigious awards and hope to expand in the future. Our hope is that all the agencies will take the opportunity to nominate their very deserving executives.”

The SEAAA nomination period will open in January 2022 with a formal announcement and details. The inaugural program will focus on the following award categories:

  • Outstanding Senior Executive/Professional of the Year
  • Spirit of Excellence in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility
  • Senior Executive/Professional Lifetime Achievement

The SEAAA will recognize federal employees (SES, SL/ST, and equivalents) whose achievements embody SEA’s mission-driven expectations of meritorious federal executive/professional service to the United States. Moreover, the program will recognize exemplary executive leadership and outstanding professional performance on major projects with department/agency-wide impact that clearly exceeds expectations.

Please stay tuned for more information to include the January announcement, program details and submission/timeline requirements for government-wide departments and agencies.
