Facilitating Dialogue and Networking - Promoting opportunities for candid dialogue and networking between professionals in Cyber/Security fields. Identifying Common Challenges, Best Practices, and Solutions – Identifying common challenges amongst Cyber/Security leaders, sharing best practices, and proposing solutions for adoption government-wide through challenges in policy and/or through Congressional action. Purpose Statement: The SEA Cyber/Security Community of Practice (C/S COP) is formed to work with stakeholders to enhance the collective knowledge and effectiveness of Cyber/Security professionals across the government, contributing to the development of more streamlined and robust Cyber/Security practices within the Agencies. The Cyber/Security Community of Practice is inclusive of those who work in the following fields and roles: information technology (CIO), chief information security officer (CISO), chief security officer (CSO), (CI) counterintelligence, and/or other security disciplines and/or other professionals within these disciplines. Goals: 1. Prepare and support communities by disseminating information and providing a minimum of two professional development sessions annually to assist with career advancement. 2. Host quarterly Cyber/Security COP meetings to facilitate the exchange of information, insights, and experiences to deepen the collective understanding of Cyber/Security challenges. 3. Collaborate with federal agencies to assist agencies with actively seeking an adequate pool of qualified candidates for the Senior Executive Service (SES), SES Candidate Development Programs (SESCDP), Senior Level (SL), Scientific or Professional (ST), and other senior leader positions.
