Name: Tony Vergnetti
Bio: Anthony F. Vergnetti is the President and Founder of FEDS Protection. FEDS Protection provides professional liability insurance to the entire federal employee community. Prior to founding FEDS, Mr. Vergnetti was a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm Shaw, Bransford, & Roth, P.C. (SBR) where he specialized in federal personnel and employment law. Prior to joining SBR, Mr. Vergnetti was an attorney with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Office of Chief Counsel where he represented the Bureau in personnel matters (disciplinary and other adverse actions), and other employment/labor law matters. Mr. Vergnetti has law degrees from Widener University School of Law and Georgetown University Law Center, BA from Arizona State University and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

 

Name: Ralph Conte
Bio: Ralph C. Conte recently joined FEDS Protection as Vice President, Programs. He previously practiced in the area of employment litigation and federal administrative and personnel law for more than 25 years. Mr. Conte started his career with the District of Columbia government and subsequently became an associate with the law firm of Shaw, Bransford & Roth in Washington, D.C., representing federal executives, managers and employees in matters before all federal administrative forums. Mr. Conte then made the transition to the federal government in 2008, which included attorney positions with the D.C. Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency and the Department of the Treasury. Thereafter, Mr. Conte assumed supervisory, leadership roles as the Deputy Chief Counsel, United States Mint; the Deputy Associate Chief Counsel for the Management Division with the Department of Justice, ATF, Office of Chief Counsel; and finished his federal career after retiring from the Department of Defense Education Activity in Alexandria, VA as the Deputy General Counsel for Administrative Law. Mr. Conte’s litigation responsibilities have included representing local government and federal agencies before the EEOC, MSPB, and OSC and assisting with U.S. District Court litigation, to include having served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Title VII litigation. Mr. Conte was a co-founder and moderator of the D.C. Bar’s annual Continuing Legal Education program, Introduction to Federal Personnel Law.
